About Us
Vision and Mission
The Vision of Runako Designs is to offer unique, quality, handcrafted jewelry to every woman, at affordable prices, by means of first-rate customer service and satisfaction.
Our Mission is to create jewelry that inspires every woman who wears it to unveil a renewed feeling about herself; a renewed feeling that empowers her to move one step closer to finding her purpose and inner beauty.
The Name
Runako Designs has special meaning to my designs and to me. Runako, pronounced "Roo-Nah-Koh"- means beauty in the Shona Language of Zimbabwe. The flower used in the logo represents the National flower of Zimbabwe, the Flame Iris.
I was looking for something special to express what I think of my jewelry, and Runako and a unique, beautiful flower, tied it all together for me.
About Dee
In June of 2004, I met a woman in the mall who was nice enough to teach me how to make jewelry. I had thought about it for a while, but figured I didn't have the skill or the talent to be successful. On that day, something told me to go for it, and I did and here I am today with two jewelry businesses and loving every minute of it.
I get inspiration from Nature and Ethnic beauty when I’m designing a piece of jewelry. I also enjoy the tranquility and calmness I feel when I am in creation mode. I take pride in each piece I create and especially hate letting go of some of my favorites, but hey....at least I can relish in the fact that someone is wearing something uniquely designed from my own hands and sharing my business with someone else. I've definitely become a critic on quality and customer service and as a result I will only provide the best for my customers.
In 2006 I started a second business as an independent Stylist for Luxe Jewels by Stella and Dot. As a stylist I do in home boutique style jewelry parties, offering designer quality jewelry at boutique prices. I like to call it a Girls Night Out Party, trying on great jewelry, having fun with the girls, helping someone pick out something special and laughing the night away. Being a part of Stella and Dot has definitely had its rewards, as I've met a lot of great women and have learned from some of the best designers and business professionals in the Direct Sales business. Stella and Dot also afforded me the opportunity to sell my own jewelry at their home parties, gaining me much more exposure.
Besides making jewelry, I enjoy teaching jewelry making, reading, writing, listening music and spending quality time with my son.
I give thanks to God, all of my family, friends and customers who continue to support me; with out each of you, I would not be where I am today. Thanks for all your encouragement and contacts.

Dee
